# Artie

> Replicate changes into your oleander Iceberg catalog with an Artie destination.

[**Artie**](https://www.artie.com/) is a managed change data capture (CDC) platform that streams changes from a [variety of sources](https://www.artie.com/connectors) into destinations like Apache Iceberg in real time. Connect its Iceberg destination to your oleander catalog to keep tables in your lake up to date and ready to query across compatible engines.

## What you need

| Value | Where to find it |
| - | - |
| **Organization ID** | [Settings → Organization](https://oleander.dev/app/settings) |
| **API key** | [Settings → API keys](https://oleander.dev/app/settings/api-keys) |

The organization ID is both the OAuth client ID and the catalog warehouse name. The API key is the OAuth client secret.

## Setup

1. In Artie, add a destination and choose **Iceberg**.
2. Fill in the catalog connection:

| Field | Value |
| - | - |
| **Catalog Type** | `REST Catalog (Databricks Unity Catalog, etc.)` |
| **REST Catalog URI** | `https://iceberg.oleander.dev/catalog` |
| **Authentication Method** | `Client Credentials (OAuth2)` |
| **Client Credentials** | `<your_org_id>:<api-key>` |
| **Token endpoint (authURI)** | `https://oleander.dev/api/v1/oidc/token` |
| **OAuth2 scope** | `catalog` |
| **Warehouse (catalog name)** | Your organization ID |

3. Save the destination, then attach it to a pipeline.

<Note>
  **Client Credentials** is the organization ID and API key joined with a colon. Artie exchanges it for a short-lived catalog token on your behalf, so you never paste a token by hand. Storage credentials are vended by the catalog automatically, so there are no S3 keys to configure.
</Note>

## Querying the data

Artie writes one table per replicated source table into the namespace you choose for the pipeline. Query it like any other table in your catalog:

```sql theme={null}
SELECT * FROM oleander.<namespace>.<table>;
```

For long-running pipelines, schedule [Iceberg maintenance](/platform/storage/tables#table-health-and-maintenance) to compact small files, expire old snapshots, and keep query times flat.
